MADRID BY HEART

The first proposal of this work was to make a mental map of one’s living city, drawing it ‘by heart’. This exercise is based on David Lynch studies about people and their relationship with their urban enviroment. We found that many citizens did not know how their city is like. They knew better the daily itineraries, often structured by public transport maps. We wanted to prove ourselves, and try to make a kind of map more friendly and more easy to remember. We have respected the appeal of a sketch, trying to find an original way of depicting the city. MADRID BY HEART.

The collection of the map and nine postcards is very suitable on print version for tourist’s guides,
but also it will fit perfect on bigger sizes, and can be used by official entities such as major or any other.

It pretends to be a more human, emotive approach to the touristic postcard images of the city.
